功能：益胃生津，养阴清热。
主治与应用：
1．用于热病伤津或胃阴不足，舌干口渴用鲜石斛配伍鲜生地、麦冬、花粉等；养阴益胃汤以本品与沙参、麦冬、玉竹等同用，治胃阴不足津亏口渴。
2．用于阴虚津亏，虚热不退，可配伍生白薇，麦冬等药同用。
3．本品有明目及强腰膝作用。如石斛夜光丸，即以石斛配伍菊花，菟丝子、枸杞子、熟地等药，治视力减退；配伍熟地、枸杞子、牛膝等药，可治肾阴亏损，腰膝软弱。
用量用法：6－15克；鲜用15－30克，入汤剂宜先煎。
使用注意：温热病不宜早用；湿温尚未化燥者忌服。
